Kent College is delighted to announce their new partnership with RTW Monson Swimming Club, launching to coincide with the opening of the new KC Pool. The impressive 25-metre, six lane competition pool is scheduled to be completed this summer with the official opening to take place in September 2023 and lessons due to start in the Autumn term.
The new partnership will see Monson deliver much of Kent College’s exciting new swimming programme, supporting pupils on their swimming journey, focusing on technical excellence and instilling a lifelong love of swimming. Monson will also utilise the pool for a joint swim school providing lessons for the local community and the expansion of their squad structure.
Monson Swimming Club, established in 1901, has a long history of providing high quality swimming tuition in the Kent area. The club caters for Parent and Toddler classes in their Learn to Swim programme, all the way through to high level precision training for competing at British National Level and beyond. They strive to foster a strong sense of team and instil a love for aquatics, right from the very start of a child’s swimming experience.
Georgina Hughes, Director of Sport at Kent College commented: “We are excited about the development of our new pool and the partnership, which offers our pupils access to Monson’s expertise and many years of experience. We have designed the swimming programme to provide sport for everyone, enabling opportunities from learn to swim all the way through to catering for elite young swimmers”.
Karen Bradbury, Head of Age Group Swimming at Monson remarked: “The club are really excited for the future. With a waiting list for most squads and our swim school, this partnership enables Monson to expand, adding momentum to our club goal of promoting swimming and waterpolo within the local area’.
