This is Nursery

We began by imagining a nursery your little adventurers would love. Seventy five acres of parkland and woods, hiding places, things to be discovered, unstructured adventure and the untidy beauty of the seasons – this is Forest Explorers. A big, big outdoors and a cosy indoor woodland-themed space are worlds for your children to explore.

Our Nursery

Forest Explorers Nursery is for girls and boys from the term they turn three and offers wraparound care from 7.30am-7.30pm.

Set in acres of beautiful countryside Forest Explorers has outdoor play areas, an orchard (where we plant fruit trees every year for our children), a vegetable garden, mud kitchen and plenty of space for building dens and exploring. It also has the first class facilities of the Senior School to use.

The philosophy of outdoor learning runs through our nursery, where imaginations can run wild, curiosity creep in, confidence and independence grow. In the forest children can think creatively, step out of their comfort zone and work together with their friends.

Cosy Indoors

The Nursery has its own woodland themed wing in Kent College Prep School which has been designed to stimulate young minds. A well equipped space with a large outdoor play area which flows out of the rooms.

Whether it is reading, arts and craft or music, children have a wide range of activities to choose from to nurture their curiosity and imagination through play and exploration.

Big outdoors

Acres of woodlands, well equipped play areas and plenty of open space allows children to explore the natural environment. Here they lose themselves in play and conversation, make up stories together and develop language skills.

They learn how to move in challenging and unpredictable spaces, to think creatively and develop skills which will prepare them for life - negotiation, resilience and independence.
