Pupils achieve excellent GCSE success

Pupils at Kent College have been celebrating success in their GCSEs with 40% of pupils achieving level 7 and above in all their subjects and one in ten pupils achieving straight 8s and 9s. Overall, 35% of grades are at the top levels of 8 and 9.

These top grades have been awarded in a breadth of subjects with over 20% of grades at level 9 in English, Food Technology, Geography, History, Music, PE and Spanish. Over 50% of grades are level 7 and above in additional subjects including Art, Dance, French, German, Latin, Textiles and Further Maths.

Grades only tell part of the story, as many pupils received results above their national predicted grades with 50% of pupils achieving on average one grade higher in all subjects and a quarter of pupils achieving two grades higher.

Head, Katrina Handford has praised their success and said:

“I am so proud to lead a school which ensures every pupil not only reaches their potential but exceeds it.  The personalised and supportive approach at Kent College sees every pupil excel. Pupils have achieved fantastic grades, but they have scored over and above expectation, based on their national predicted grades.  I know that every pupil will go onto their next stages with a collection of outstanding results and also the confidence for a very bright future. I am delighted for each and every pupil on their magnificent success.”
