Enrichment

KC pupils are ambitious and encouraged to follow their natural talents and passions outside the classroom. They are able to broaden their horizons through the many and varied extra curricular and enrichment opportunities academically, in sport and in the arts.

Pupils have the opportunity at all ages to take part in visits and residential trips, both in the UK and abroad. Some link directly to the curriculum, such as visits to the theatre, Art galleries and Geography field trips, whilst others such as a residential week have a broader educational remit.

A varied speaker programme includes author visits, careers insight and personal development events as well as our annual Speech Day where a distinguished speaker will address the school. These occasions offer our pupils new ways to look at and understand the wider world.

Broadening Horizons

To create a balanced and well-rounded experience we have an impressive range of clubs and activities in all areas of the curriculum.

Students can join bands, choirs, technical theatre, art, photography, politics and sign language clubs. We have sports clubs, STEM clubs including 3D design and robotics, Model United Nations, philosophy and ancient language clubs.

Before, during and after school there is something for everyone.

Partnerships

Being a part of the wider community is important to us and we want our pupils to develop an awareness of the world around them. We run outreach activities for local schools with KC pupils and these have included a cross-curricular language day, a STEM event with the British Heart Foundation, the Page Turners Book Awards and the annual awards for Young Fashion Designers UK.

We are a founding member of the West Kent Independent State School Partnership, established with aim of sharing resources and facilities, and providing aspirational learning opportunities for local pupils. We host a soap race in our grounds for all the schools and a lecture is held in the theatre.
