Kent College is the official YFD UK Regional Centre for the South of England, covering all counties from Cornwall to London and up to Oxford. 

This exciting national competition, established in 2010, focuses on enhancing the talent of Young Fashion Designers to showcase and promote the exceptional work achieved by GCSE, AS, A2, BTEC & IB students studying textiles design & product design throughout the United Kingdom.

Stretching across the UK, Kent College Pembury, in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is the South Centre for YFD UK 2013 and we are now open for submissions from all schools in the South area catchment.

Students studying textiles and product design on any of the courses listed above are eligible and students are invited to now put forward their coursework for submission.

Students who enter are in with the chance to win the following prizes and shortlisted students will have a fantastic opportunity to join us for the Finals on Saturday 6th July 2013, to exhibit their work, join in with dynamic workshops and meet our professional team of judges all working within the fashion and textiles industry.

Young Fashion Designer Competition 2011

 
Congratulations to all students who took part in the Young Fashion Designer Competition held at Kent College Pembury on Saturday 2nd July 2011. The eighteen finalists were selected by a panel of judges from 135 entries from all over the UK. The standard this year was very high showing an exceptional level of young talent brought together at this event. At the first level of selection, the judges decided to award ‘Commended' certificates to those students who had submitted outstanding entries but who were not selected for the final competition.

Kent College Pembury was bursting with talent on Saturday 19th June as the new Young Fashion Designer Competition Awards, (sponsored by Hoopers, C& H Fabrics & World of Sewing) took place in its' first ever year. The day was an outstanding success and Kent College welcomed many industry professionals including Bill Bohm from the Textiles Institute, students, teachers and parents across the South East in a celebration of the up and coming talent from across the region.
