Kent College Pembury has an enviable reputation for the standard of its Performing Arts and for the professional, ambitious productions that have graced our stages over the course of 125 years.

Using Kent College's outstanding facilities and professional body of specialist staff, the Kent College Theatre Academy delivers the teaching of Drama, Dance and Singing to a professional standard through workshops during the school holidays, encouraging students with a passion for the Performing Arts to develop their skills.

Academy workshops are designed to cater for small groups of no more than 18 in order to create an optimum teaching environment. They are open to male and female students from local schools in the South East who want to enhance their abilities using the professional facilities and teaching staff available at Kent College.

Staff with specialist knowledge and experience offer support and advice for students who would like to pursue careers in the Arts.

West End Workshops

Following the success of our Easter West End Workshops, we are delighted to announce their return this summer from Tuesday 29th August to Friday 1st September 2017.  Each day will focus on a different musical with professionals from London’s West End leading singing, dance and character workshops and will take place in the Countess of Wessex Theatre and Drama Studio.

There are different sessions for different age groups (Aged 4 to 16) and we welcome siblings (boys and girls) or friends in those year groups who are not Kent College pupils but who express an interest. The most important talent to have is enthusiasm!

  1. The Senior West End Workshops will run from 8.30am to 4.00pm for students aged 9 to 16 with a short presentation each day to demonstrate the material covered. The cost for each student is £60.00 per day, £200.00 for all four days
  2. The Junior Creative Days will run from 8.30am to 4.00pm for students aged 4 to 8, with a short presentation each day to demonstrate the material covered.

The cost for each student is £60.00 per day, £200.00 for all four days

We are also offering care from 4.00pm to 5.30pm at an additional £10.00 per day. For parents/guardians who miss the short presentation each day, we will film the performance and email it round.

Students will need to wear leggings and a practical top and bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water with them.

Places are limited and, as we have been oversubscribed in the past, we are anticipating a good response so please do not delay in replying. The sessions therefore are on a first come first served basis.

If you would like your child to take part, please click here to download a form. Please return the form and deposit to West End Workshops, Kent College Pembury, Old Church Road, Pembury, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN2 4AX. Alternatively, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact productions@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk

Please note that the workshops will only run if there are sufficient numbers.
