Our Leavers - friends for Life
Testimonials from the parents of recent leavers:
"We could not have been more impressed. Kent College staff made our daughter feel valued and important and she left to go to University with her self-esteem and self-belief sky high. She is now coping beautifully with all her new challenges.”
"There are some very inspiring teachers at Kent College that maintain very positive relationships with pupils, particularly at Sixth Form.”
"Our daughter loved KC from start to finish. We as parents, are huge fans of the school; its ethos, the staff and all involved.”

We are are always delighted when past pupils visit and many are invited back for events and to give talks on life post-KC which is very useful for current Sixth Formers. Leavers can now stay in touch through our 'Friends of Kent College' alumni association which includes ex-pupils, parents, staff and Governors. Click here to visit the Friends and 'Old Girls Association' website. Keep up to date with KC news via the school Facebook page or by Twitter @KentCollegePemb . Don't forget to send us your news by emailing friends@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk.

It is almost impossible to sum up my time at KC with one paragraph! I could write pages about all the fun I've had here! It's so strange to think that my time at KC has come to an end! Each year you sit in the upper sixth leavers' service and think this is so sad, but don't worry its ages until I leave! However, this time it was my year sitting in the front row on the verge of tears. The saying "time flies when you're having fun" certainly comes to mind. Having been a boarder at the school for 7 years, there are so many memories that I will take away with me. I don't think anything can beat dressing up for the annual sponsored walk or the boarders Christmas panto! Being a boarder has played a huge part in my experience of KC. I love the fact that everyone mixes regardless of the year that they are in and I'll definitely miss the midnight feasts or walking in Pembury on a Sunday afternoon!
When I think of KC, it is the close-knit and warm community with girls striving to do well and the enthusiastic staff that spur them on. There are so many opportunities that the girls can take advantage of whether its being on the school sports teams, acting in a production or doing D of E, there's always something for everyone and I hope I've made the most of that while being at KC. I don't think I could have asked for a better year. It has been a pleasure to fulfill my role as Head Girl, reading birthdays, doing speeches and getting to know all the girls. Everyone should be so proud of what they've achieved this year and I wish everyone the best of luck in the future! I will definitely miss KC, there's no doubt about it!"

"I left KC after a wonderful seven years and, two years on, still feel a great fondness for such a lovely school. During my time at KC I laughed more than ever before, made many very close friends who I hope will remain friends for life, was made to feel hugely appreciated and was endlessly encouraged to achieve my potential academically. I am now reading Geography at St John's College, Cambridge and I feel very strongly that were it not for the tireless efforts of the KC teachers and the support and encouragement I was given at school I would never have found myself here now. I cannot help but smile when I think about KC, it is a truly unique and special school and a huge privilege for any girl to grow up in such a safe, beautiful and rural location. For me there is only one word that epitomises the ethos of KC and that is that it is enormously caring of every individual. I could continue to sing the school's praises endlessly but for now I will just say that of Kent College I will always be very fond, and I see no immediate end to my frequent return visits!"

"I joined Kent College aged four and left aged 18 after completing my A Levels. In those14 years, I was lucky enough to experience first-class teaching at all levels. From my nursery teacher to my A Level tutors, they all genuinely cared about me and my development, not just about league table results. For me, this was one of the most important things about KC - that teachers were able to adapt their styles to the needs of the individual pupil, giving you one-to-one attention when necessary, challenging you to think for yourself and always pushing you to achieve your best.
But KC is not just about lessons. Our headmistress, used to say that what we'd remember most about our school days was the fun we'd had and not just the exams. Some of my greatest memories of KC involve numerous musicals, whole-school theatre trips, setting up a gymnastics club, sponsored walks, charity committees, social committees, music concerts, editing the school magazine, international days, inter-house cross country, sports days, theme weeks, whole school line-dancing assemblies... the list is endless. That's what KC is all about - giving you the opportunity and freedom to discover what you're good at and what you enjoy in a hugely supportive environment.
After leaving KC, I went tothe University of York to study history and, after that, completed my Masters at the London School of Economics. For the past two years, I have been working for the management consultancy, Bain & Company, based in London. I am confident that my experiences up until now will allow me to explore whichever path I choose. Like all my friends, I am ambitious and keen to succeed in whatever I do. KC gave us the confidence to achieve anything."
