The School

 

Kent College is an independent girls’ boarding and day school with a Senior school (ages 11-18) and a Preparatory School (ages 3-11) sharing the same site. Founded in 1886 by the Wesleyan Methodist Schools’ Association, today Kent College is an interdenominational Christian school welcoming girls of all faiths and backgrounds.

 

Since 1939 the school has been located on a 75-acre site, surrounded by beautiful green countryside on the outskirts of Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent, a safe and rural part of south-east England. The campus comprises an elegant Victorian manor house used for offices and boarding and purpose-built modern facilities include boarding houses, sports hall, theatre, music school, language laboratories, Sixth Form Centre, an indoor heated swimming pool and new science laboratories for September 2008. Excellent ICT facilities include Apple Mac suite, wireless laptops and smartboards in the majority of teaching rooms.

 

The current roll in the Senior School is 470 with an additional 200 girls in the Preparatory School. Day girls come from a wide area of Kent and Sussex and weekly boarders from London and the south coast.
