Destination of Leavers
Our pupils are prepared for a variety of senior schools, both state and independent (including our own senior school), and our aim is to work in partnership with parents to help their daughter gain a place at the school of their choice.
We do not have a policy of restricting the girls who take the Kent 11+ tests for entry to grammar schools. We will advise on suitability but the choice is made by the parents. Each year about half of the year group will take the Kent 11+ examinations; the majority of girls are capable of taking the tests but many choose not to because they plan to attend an independent school. Our pupils have a good record of success in achieving places in local grammar schools, as they do for independent schools.
Girls have moved on to the following schools over the past few years:
Independent Schools
- Kent College Senior School
-
Sevenoaks
State Schools
Staying in touch with our former pupils
We are always delighted to hear the progress and to receive visits from our former pupils. In 2010 the Friends of Kent College Association was established in order for the Prep and Senior School to maintain links with our former pupils, parents and members of staff. If you are interested in receiving further information about the Friends Association, please click here or contact Emma Donovan, Head of External Relations on 01892 820237 or friends@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk. We'd love to hear from you!
Recent Leavers
"I write in order to express our thanks and appreciation to you and to your staff. We are thankful to our daughter's teachers and to all of the other members of staff who impacted so positively on her education and development throughout the eight years at Kent College Preparatory School.
From a parental perspective it was of course very gratifying to see our daughter achieve so much in so many different areas of school life. However, we are well aware that dedication and a great deal of hard work is required from staff members in order to enable a school to function so effectively. Your school provided a happy, safe, challenging and supportive environment where our daughter was able to grow and flourish.
I am delighted to tell you that our daughter has settled very well into life at Grammar School. We are always pleased to be able to recommend Kent College and we are delighted that we will be able to maintain a continuing relationship with the school, through the Friends of Kent College."
