Boarding Life

The School Week
The school timetable runs from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.50pm. With guidance from staff, students develop self-reliance by planning their own individual evening programmes to include supervised homework sessions and activities. Boarders achieve high academic standards and benefit from greater access to the excellent range of resources which are open from 7.30am to 9pm. Rehearsing a play in the drama studio, enjoying a game of badminton in the new sports hall, practising piano in the music centre, searching the Web for company information for a business studies project, or sending an email to parents abroad - just some of the ways in which boarders make productive use of their evenings.

Busy Weekends
Kent College offers one of the busiest weekend activity programmes you will find. There is always something going on! The younger girls are fully entertained with a diverse schedule of supervised events whilst the senior boarders have more independence to organise their time between study and relaxation. The freedom to go out is an important part of boarding life and on Saturdays, school minibuses take senior students into Tunbridge Wells for shopping trips.

There are plenty of opportunities to mix with boys and girls from other local schools at formal balls, discos or bowling. Locally there is a rich history and heritage to explore and, with London only 40 minutes away by train, students enjoy frequent trips to concerts, art galleries, museums and West End theatre productions.
