The Kent College Gymnastics Academy

The Kent College Gymnastics Academy was established in the Summer of 2009 and is a thriving, award-winning Gymnastics Club for girls and boys who are keen to develop their gymnastics talents and compete both nationally and internationally.

Classes are open to KC and non KC pupils aged between 5 and 18 and are held on Saturdays from 9am with sessions lasting from between 45mins to 1 1/4 hour and 2 hour sessions in the Kent College Sports Hall. With over 100 children attending throughout the day. General Gymnastics classes range from 1 ¼ hour beginner and intermediate classes to more advanced 2-hour classes.

Our classes cater for children who would like to try gymnastics and develop co-ordination, strength, balance, stamina and flexibility eventually progressing onto various competitions.

All gymnast coaches are trained and qualified through the British Gymnast Association and many have competed internationally.

Acrobatic Gymnastics are developing  strongly within the Academy. Acrobatics is an infusion of choreography and complex acrobatic skills performed in partnership on a standard gymnastics floor area. Balance, Tempo and Combined routines are performed to music.

If you are interested in your son or daughter attending the Academy then please contact Kent College at gymacademy@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk

We hope to welcome you soon!

Last weekend nine Academy gymnasts represented Great Britain in their first international competition. The event took place in Turin Italy at the Palazzo dello Sport Ruffini, where 308 gymnasts from 12 countries competed in this international event. All of our nine gymnasts qualified on the Saturday, for the finals on Sunday, which was a huge achievement itself.

Our pairs Emily and Rosie came 11th, and Alice and Amy came 5th. Our womens trio, Grace, Maisie and Natalia , came 4th just missing out on a bronze medal and our mixed pair, Daniel and Madeleine , won gold!
Supporters at home could watch and cheer through a live link to the event. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to competing there again next year.
